i use LSX for a couple of months already and am very happy.
Drlava indeed responds slowly on skype, but when he does, he's very helpful. He actually fixed some bugs i noticed in LSX, and he does it very fast. i also had problems with a cable and he send a complete new one. (although the new one isnt really much better).

i never ever used QS, but know from people with desame hobby that it is not easy to make beamshows. Its all there to make it beautiful but sometimes you have to dit a bit. in LSX its real easy to make a show without alot of knowlegde.

You are also a member of PL. It seems that PL members get far better service out of lava than any other part of the community. Such a testament to true professionalism.

You know, I had a similar experience with drlava some time ago. He helped me with a problem that I had with his software and was MOST helpful. That was nearly 2 years ago. I can give credit where it's due, but lately his responsiveness to the community outside PL has ranged from slow as dirt to nonexistent. The last time I ordered flexmods from him directly the order never shipped. After weeks of waiting with zero communication I canceled the order.

If he thinks so badly of the rest of the laser community that he would take our money without any obligation to ship somewhat quickly or provide timely support for his products, then he can deal with the heaps of negative feedback I'll see to it he receives. You want to promote bad business? Then it shouldn't bother you when you get bad reviews. And I can be guaranteed to give a bad review when I have a bad experience.

well i looked at LSX and the other options and i think its worth the wait on support.
Plus at the price i got it plus a dac was a steal!
But there are not alot of options under 200$ for good software.
Some the software is better and some software not so good but great support or good at both but cost an arm and a leg

Hey, if you don't care about good support, then buy LSX. I'm sure it's great otherwise.

To me, good service at time of sale (which would include communication and quick shipment) and support after the sale is half of what motivates the sale in the first place. Also, lousy past experiences will guarantee that I review accordingly. I disapprove of bad business conduct, and rightfully so. No one will ever sell me on the idea that I should accept lousy customer service as a norm, nor to save a few bucks.

Elektrofreak i know you hate pl, i did first but now everyone knows me. I like it here as much as on pl.
Drlava indeed responded ages after i send him a pm here. He did replied faster on pl. But well sometimes people move.
For example im alot more active on pl lately then here.

He has its own online shop. And he has no obligation to be active on either forums.
And he's busy alot of the time, so i understand why he sometimes responds slower. Its one guy...not a big business.
Plus solving bugs i found in lsx is a big plus. And that fixing is done in like 24 hours usally.

I find the support of him top notch exept for the sometimes delays. But it is understandable.

First, I don't hate anyone. I dislike and disagree with certain members of PL. I have no problem with the site itself. This isn't about PL other than where I pointed out that drlava seems to favor it.

How I feel about PL or it's members is irrelevant to this topic anyway. Nothing that I've posted in this thread has been personal. I have no problem with drlava other than his business practices. Those I find reprehensible, based on personal experience and the experiences of others.

Bad business is bad business. That has nothing to do with me or how I feel. That's just facts. Do you like when people take weeks to ship an item with no communication, only to have them never ship it, resulting in your being forced to cancel it after wasting a lot of time?

Do you like waiting weeks for a response to a support question that may or may not ever even come?

Neither of those points have anything to do with how I feel about PL or some of it's members. I just think it's wrong for a seller to favor one community over another. All of us are "the laser community". That's been a point of mine for the whole time I've been here. We're all in this together, no matter how much the "elites" and the "n00bs" can't get along.

Well i must say i found a faster way to get a response in less than a day most of the time.
So yeah not as great as others but still works for me!

Agreed. DR Lava is VERY unresponsive. He was next to useless when I got a RIYA DAC from him. Look me a month from my first PM before he actually sent me a PP address.

For that reason alone, I wont be considering LSX.

I started with the soundcard DAC, but at the time very little software existed for it (Roughly 3 years ago). I think the RIYA DAC's were just coming out at the time, but I decided to skip all that and just go straight for Pangolin.

Best decision I've ever made. Like ElectroFreak has already said, the support is mindblowing and the software is amazingly easy to use. Quickshow was still in planning stages at the time, however when it was released, all FB3 users were eligible for Quickshow free of charge. Considering the amount of time and money that would have gone into Quickshow, that is a very generous offer from Pangolin to it's users.

I've NEVER had a reply take more than 24 hours from them either. Sometimes I've had drlava never respond.

I've never tried LSX< but I've heard good things about it - just as long as you don't mind the crappy customer support that comes with it.

I've also recently had problems with a few PL members and have decided to leave, it'd annoy me to know that I wouldn't get any support if I wasn't a member. Unprofessional IMO.

Well i have been able to get an answer within 2 hours of sending
And ive done it now 5 times.
But yea dont send via lpf there are faster ways to reach him.
I know he might have a bad past on service but so far ive never had a problem.
Maybe some people should give him a second chance?
We given second chances to members who have done much worse that slow service.
i think for price vs its competitors its great!

The there have been many "Issue with DR Lava" threads, people have already given him a second chance, and a third chance.
