Ive been using leggos for years- if painted black they are not so recognizable-thus less embarassing!!LOL

Now i get different patterns at different speeds but i can get them at any speed as longs as the other motors are at par. so its a ratio between the 3 motors that make the patterns? so we might not have the same voltage or motors but the ratio at which we achieve that pattern should be similar. so all you need is a volt meter and you could share your patterns. i would love to try this out. any one want to join me?
But it's the speed ratios that count, and here it's not the voltage only that counts but the motor itself, the mirror weight, type, size...

None of them will work for reversing the motors tho. Funny that I bought a pack of 20 of the switch in the last link for my RGV just yesterday :wtf:

Yes but lets just say at 5 volts your motor spins at 4000rpm and mine at 5 volts spins at 3000rpm. if you had you motors setup to a ratio of 4v 5.2v 3v, we would have different speeds but the ratio at which each motor is spinning would not change. this only works if all your motors are the same i have all x motors and you have all Y.
This would not be perfect but could be close. if you would not mind make a nice pattern and take pic and volt out motors. also plz note direction of each motor. cw or c-cw, then on my end i will setup mine the same and see how close our results would be if at all.

FYI I have a PIC microcontroller-based control board for a 3-motor spiro.. It has three pots attached for manual control, and a switch to select between manual control and automatic control via the PIC. The board also contains a LM317 driver as well to run your laser (although I never used it so I don't know how much current it's set up to deliver).. The board can drive either 5V or 12V motors depending on a solder jumper.

Basically you hook your motors up to the board's three outputs and shine a laser on to them and you're all set. You can control the patterns manually with the pots or the board will randomly generate patterns.

I'll part with the board for $30 shipped in the US if anyone is interested. I can also post a pic later after work..
