i made a liquid sky scanner and it seems it dose not look like the ones i have seen and i don't know why. is it my fog? to much to little i had lots of fog and got same results to the point i could not see my my cpu 10 ft away to just a light dusting i am using a 50mw green and a 1 sided mirror mounted onto a pc case fan spinning at full speed. i get a bright line around the room but no liquid sky looking thing.

I think the fog is well mixed with air in your room, so you see only a line. for the liquid sky effect the fog should be blowed ,,in clouds'' and not scattered by fan etc.

Yes the best thing to do for liquid sky is to have just a little bit of fog in the air to start with just enough to where you can see the beam but i is not hazie.... then take your foger and place it under the beam hitting the button just a few quick times and you will get cloud like clouds going through the beam and it looks really cool : )

You're unlikely to have a big enough room or a small enough fog machine to produce nice swirling wisps before hazing the whole room uniformly. Ventilation into the room from outside/another room can create good constant swirling effects even in constantly very smoky environments. A fan can do this to a lesser extent, but its all about the slow mix.

i am using a rotating mirror that has 1 reflective side and one dull side. i am getting 1 solid line around the whole room. maybe i can not see the smoke effects due to i am losing power because the line gos 360 around the room and for half the time its hitting a non reflective surface. would i be better off making it a 4 sided mirror that way it has a small line but it would be more powerful right?

I am pretty sure you just using to much fog ... you need just enough to see the fan and then use the fog machine in pulses from far enough away to see the effect..... i do it in a 5x9 bathroom with a 400w fog machine and a 135mw laser so i think you can do it.

Helps to turn off any ac or fans in the room- remove the plastic fans blades under your mirror, which, should be a front surface mirror-I gave up trying to get more than one mirror to align with any more-unless you use a scanner mirror(SurplusShed.com) I also paint the back and edges of the mirror with flat black and also sometimes 'full speed' is not as cool as slower speeds.-good advice in post#3 too -just a puff or two close under your mirror assembly.--PM me for FS mirrors -cheap--;p--hak
