Hi! I have a improvised laser projector with DC motors controlled by PC signals.. I want to make it more atractive, so i was thinking in implementing a blanking system.. Of course i don't want to draw with the laser, just i want to make some nice effects with fog (dotted lines for example)

Do you have any ideas to make a improvised blanking system? I was thinking of doing it with a DC motor, but i don't know how to connect it to the PC because i have only stereo output on my PC and i'm using left to X axis and right to Y axis...

Thanks

You can doa simple 555-based timer circuit and have it TTL-modulate the laser hears very rapidly. It'll give you cool effects that way.

If you're searching for something more advanced, you can do an actual laser scanner, you have soem useful links in my signature.

Either way, it can't be too hard to simply time them into pulses.
