No prob. Nothing is worse than not being able to get your equipment to work because of software or driver issues.

What driver are you using in the Device Manager? Mine shows the driver provider is C-Media, Inc. the date is 8/12/2010, and the version is 7.12.8.2150. If I try to update the driver I can select between plain "USB Audio Driver" and "USB Multi-Channel Audio".

I've found Microsoft's CMedia driver, the same one that my system uses (both .sys files have the same checksums). In case you don't trust the attached file, it was obtained from Microsoft's site here, extracted, and zipped up for ease of use.

Hopefully this helps.

OK, so I use Windows XP when I use my soundcard DAC. I didn't see any reason why it wouldn't work in Win 7, but I just tried to use my soundcard DAC in Windows 7 last night to help with troubleshooting this issue and I was unable to get good laser output no matter what I tried. IMO EZAudDAC doesn't work properly in Windows 7. When I go to configure my speakers, all signals are going to separate channels when I test them individually, but in LFI or HE Laserscan they all crosstalk. I don't have a good solution at this point. Maybe Badger or others have some different ideas.

One option is to use a different sound card, but that would require that the DC decoupling capacitors be located on whatever card gets used.,

Okay i think I've got it. I tuned all channels now. I thought i was not getting readings because the offset and gain readings where VERY similar. But I managed to get them to 0 and 5 V respectively. I did that with the 7.1 max.wav and not the max.wav . The max.wav outputs only to 2 channels, right? Also im not sure if updating the driver helped, since I did all this after updating the driver. I didn't try tuning it before the update. So yea, how can we know if the file we're playing on LFI outputs like the max.wav? I'm a bit confused with the whole process, but I think I understand what the tuning does.

What channels are you getting crosstalk on? All of them?

I am pretty sure I had mine working on my Win 7 box for a bit... I did most of my lasing on my XP pro 32 laptop though.
