andy_con has several build tutorial/journals on his website for his different scanners - that would help give you an idea of what you'd need and approximate cost

okay actually all you need is a laser but you would be limited to their preset DMX projections

but my above covers it if you would like to do any kind of .ild pattern or custom designs

they are both VERY different programs which are usually used in conjunction.

laserboy is more for making frames and playing around with colors.

spaghetti is pretty much just for syncing shows with music and doing a little bit of frame morphing and also some colors.

they are both free to download and you could try them out now.

also the lfi player also adding the sound card dac and a few new updates :)

also to do it right you will need to have some soldering skills but i guess you could do it without soldering but i couldnt

all easy soldering. probably easier to solder this stuff than it is to solder with the small drivers on the laser pointer hosts.

but there are other harder things than soldering if your planning building a projector from scratch onto a aluminum block.

just the engineering of the whole layout. drilling and taping, working with metal. arraging all your wires and if you are doing multi colors then aligning all the colors.

Check out my other thread, I am working on a way you could possibly put ILDA files onto the ScanPro's DMX board, via a simple programmer! Its still in its thinking stages, but it will be a very cheap DAC. It will let you put your own ILDA files onto it, and access them via th normal DMX/sound/auto mode. While it wont have live control, its better than having to always use the original patterns :)
