How do I know if I'm Pushing scanners to hard?

I would like to know... how do I know what the limits of my scanners are? Will they make noise...what happens? I do not know what the scanner specs are....

I think that's what the ilda test image is for. You run it at speed and check how cleanly the image scans. I could be way off though. No personal experience, just what has happened to stick in my head from here and PL

With the ILDA test pattern displayed, the circle should be touching the sides of the square.

The points-per-second (pps) rating is based solely on the ability to draw the ILDA pattern correctly at a specific point rate and angle. So what you need to do is see how hard you can push your galvos and draw a decent pattern.
