Hello everyone. I haven't been online for many months, but due to a recent show i saw my interest in lasers has been re kindled, although this time it is with projectors. After being wowed by the show with 2 generic 3 watt projectors, I decided to look into getting one myself. I plan on buying pangolin quick show, as it seems worth the investment for better software, and using the dac that comes with it, but i am struggling to find a projector that fits my needs. I have a small room, so below 1 watt is fine. I want a high speed scanner, and analog color modulation. I also need it to be cheap. After sending time on Aliexpress, i have come ip with this. 600mw RGB animation analog modulation laser light show /DMX,ILDA laser/disco light /stage laser projector-in Stage Lighting Effect from Lights & Lighting on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group It is a 600mw rgb 30kpps with analog modulation for below $300. this seems much better then the standard aliexpress 500mw rgbs with ttl and 25k. What do you guys think.

:thanks:

I wouldn't trust those scan speed/angle specs at all...

I don't understand - that projector is cheaper than Quickshow and an FB3 - $200 cheaper. Why not get cheaper software/DAC for now and spend the money saved on a better quality projector?

Rule of thumb for a good projector is $1000 per watt. You want scanners that are capable of 30kpps at 8 degrees at least. I doubt the projector you linked is up to the task, it doesn't even look like it supports ILDA input (which means you can't use it with quickshow), and the scanners will be slow (maybe 30kpps at 4 deg). Save yourself the hassle and get something quality.

Just thought id update yall on the situation. I won a used X-laser mobile beat Mk5 on eBay for $460 from a us seller)so it is likely not fake). After hearing lots of good things about them on photonlexicon, i decided to pursue a deal instead of buying a crappy Chinese projector. For those of you who are interested, here is the thread on photonlexicon where there is more discussion on Chinese projectors, and recommendations for cheap projectors. I will also be very active on that thread. Thank you to everyone's help here on lpf. https://www.photonlexicon.com/forum...e-looking-for-advice-on-what-projector-to-buy
