Where did you get the tiny beamtable? Also, where do you get hosts/pre-assembled lasers you can fasten to the beamtable? On top of that, do most of these units have beams that leave at near-perfect angles, and that are at the same height? it seems like otherwise you couldn't get them to line up.

thanks,

The beams often don't line right up naturally, but that's what shims and adjustable optics mounts are for.

Guess what: I wanted a beam table, so I found a really cheap way to make one! My mom was throwing out one of those metal cookie sheets (no idea why) so I took it and drilled a hole where all these little divets were, and now I have a metal sheet with equally spaced holes! I just need to flatten it out a bit...

A beam table should be quite thick. At least around .5" or 10mm. I don't think a cookie sheet will be stable enough to work for you.

I have a 200mW 473 on the way too. It got stuck in the damn Chinese new year though. I'm as excited as you are, this will be my first exotic laser color. I have a white fusion but its not the same a the real blue.

It's a thick-ass metal sheet, at least 10mm I think. The only problem is a light bend which I have to hammer out.

The GM20's that I have are the perfect thing to use. They are SUPER fast and almost completely silent. R/C servos are WAYYY to slow.

another little update.....I just ordered a new >250mw 473nm LW Module and new LW Dichros and the NEW DT40 WIDE scanners.

KGB, that is truly impressive. It was like watching a creature grow! Such a good result too. I know you tell us it's not finished so I can't wait for the creature to graduate and go out into the world alone.

Inspiring... +1
