Hak, sorry if I came across rude. I guess the problem I have is that this GB seems to assume that people are already familiar with the product being offered. Usually the product info and all accompanying documentation is provided in the first post. Maybe other people know about it, but I don't visit PL or read anything on that site except maybe the thread about updates for LSX.

I also did not see any links to any of the reviews supposedly on PL even after a Google search; that search was performed prior to the post above too. Google turned up some PL threads that contained just about as much/little information as this thread. Thank you also for the link to the manual, but that doesn't contain much info either.

Also, when I was talking about a large amount, I was referring to the price of the item, not the number being ordered. Even then, at 8-9 people, that's over $3000 being sent around.

Maybe my response above came more from my bad experience with that L-86 projector, and that I want to see every detail about such products before buying. I look forward to seeing some reviews on the projector in the coming weeks in case there is a round 2.

Well the thread I found that specifically mentioned that projector had pictures, but they were pretty much the same as here. No interior shots, just general pictures such as the exterior and whatever graphics might come out of it.

I'll probably just wait until there are some reviews especially since it would be back-and-forth asking about specific things, and it'd be better to just read peoples' analyses here.

I just was at a concert on Saturday night and WOW, the projectors they had there were absolutely stunning. It gave me a good view of some of the potential of projectors. While those units are definitely way better than these it reaffirmed my choice to order one of these and start looking into the world of projectors. I can't wait to get this unit in the mail and start using it and learning Quick Show.

AFAIK the limit on a USPS money order is $1000.00. I was also under the mistaken impression that they needed to be paid in cash. The clerk at the USPS I went to informed me they also accept debit cards as well as cash.

Well debit cards are essentially cash anyway. It's one reason I won't carry one on my body in case somehow it gets lost.

For the most part, you do have protection with debit cards. You have to report it lost or stolen, same as you would with a credit card, and you will get your money back.

The downside of course, is that it can take a while for your funds to be restored. Usually 3-10 days.

Actually, going to repost my questions on here in case Linna or the others want to add their $.02.....

So, I was asked by friends of mine that do trade shows to come up with a solution to project their logo on the ceiling of the dealer's room of the conventions they go to. I'm thinking this might be the unit for them!

So, a couple of questions:

1) This unit is listed as Input: AC100~240V, 50/60Hz, Total Power: 40W - When you have it plugged in to AC/does the voltage get stepped down to DC volts before powering any of the components? Can this be bypassed by sending the properly regulated voltage directly into the circuit? I'm asking because they are running everything on battery power in the booth and it will be more efficent to not have to invert the power to AC just to have the unit convert it back to DC to run the unit. So, would it run at 12 volts? How many amps would it draw?

2) This unit should be connected to a computer running QS LaserShow or a similar software to build the show to send the ILDA format, correct? Can this unit store the data to run the file without a computer, or does the unit need to be connected to a computer at all times in order to work? Are the cables also supplied to connect to the computer? Is there a small hardware solution, that anyone knows of, that can feed ILDA data to the unit without the need for a computer?

3) Can the unit be positioned toward the ceiling or does it always need to be oriented horizontally in order to work and cool properly?

Yeah, I just wasn't sure what is going on once the PJ unit is plugged in to AC... a DC to AC inverter is always an option, but less efficent when trying to conserve SLA battery power. I sent another PM, when you get a chance to take a look.

I have not had a fed ex package that I have had to sign for before, since I am guessing it will arrive during the week when I am at work what does fed ex do in these situations, leave a note and I can pick it up somewhere?

well Linna is taking the best care of us that she can. EVERY LK- PD2 will be removed from its box and TESTED-- something I begged cherrylee to do before shipping out the REKE 500s she was able to test a few but not all of them.. Linna is personally testing ours today and then she will get them to Fed Ex.
