"light source" != Laser

It's more of a fluorescent light minus the phosphor coating.

intended for high power shortwave UV applications such as sterilization and/or a small laser pump.

It will probably make a very good dye laser pump (I have some experimental documentation on how to do this).

yup, arc lamps and flashlamps are typically used for pumping other lasers (dye lasers, YAG rods, etc) but they themselves don't produce laser light
