Okay ! Thanks for the good advice ! Not sure what the seat belt reference is for - I always have worn one...but, whatever makes you feel like the big, important guy you are (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

If you have some not-quite-spec stuff sitting around, I'm sure that there are plenty of us here that would be happy to take it off your hands I'd imaging your off spec stuff is still better then what a lot of other vendors are selling as top of the line.

Yes I'm curious too, to see what kind of goodies Optotronics might put on Clearance; maybe it will even be something I "need" :crackup:

Actually, my X-15 I bought during the sale has a beam that's slightly off. It's not noticeable unless you look directly down the laser, but it is off centre by around 3-4 degrees. I haven't had a chance to measure it for power or time to measure its divergence, but I'm not too concerned about either of those right now.

A beam that exits not-so-concentric is common.
Unless the engineer took a good amount of time to align the beam, it will almost always exit a few degrees from center. Time is money, after all.

I'm picky about it, though, so when building my own lasers I make sure everything is lined up nice and straight.
All the pen lasers I have purchased from vendors have been slightly off center. My higher-dollar lasers have always had good alignment, though.

It is easy to correct, especially with the CNI GLPs.

I don't think that the sale is to get rid of "non-premium" stock, but rather a marketing strategy to steal some attention away from WL, which is one of the major competitors on the market (and probably the most disliked by the others).
NOVA dropped off the radar for a while, and I think that it is a smart move. I'm glad to see them making a come-back, since I have always been happy with purchases from NOVA.

Edit: That is not to say other factors could also contribute. I'm sure that they had a nice pile of lasers sitting around since cheapie-china shops stole the spotlight (and then Wicked with their last stunt). A couple years ago, NOVA was the company to buy from, along with Opto for the high-power portables.
Nowdays, the market is flooded with the $0.25 garbage circulating through sites like dealextreme and rayfoss Somehow it's passing off as the new "standard" for the hobby. :thinking:

Yes there are a couple others reported like that too and the divergence being too large, so far though everyone seems to agree for the money spent there still good. So it's a win/win for both the seller and the customer.

Despite what Greg is spewing out, this is what is being reported as to being received during the clearance sale. One even posted, if it wasn't for getting such a good deal on it, he'd send it back for refund. I'm sure there not all going to be like that, but again for the money spent, you can't beat it.

Glad it gave Optotronics the idea for a Clearance Sale and I hope they are able to do so, I'm sure many would buy them and they'd still be better QA'd then most direct imports from China.

I've just ordered a green laser from NOVAlasers 4 days ago :yh: But it hasnt been shipped yet . How long time does it usually take?

Usually only a day or two, but with all the orders I'm sure they are getting it might take a little longer; don't worry they are NOT like WL.

Out of curiousity - what shipping method did you get ? I bought the overnight option, and the order status went to "Shipped"...well, overnight ! Of course, here (The U.S.) there is no UPS delivery on Sundays...well, there IS, but not at MY pricing level there isn't ! So, my order will most likely be here on Monday. (Unless Elcetron and his super-secret gadget buddies intercept the order, like the crack-customs agent he is ! HAHAHAHAHAHA) (Where the hell is the ::Rolls Eyes:: smiley anyway ?)

NICE !! I was going to tell you that mine came in today as well - a GORGEOUS pair of X-150's !!! The beam comes out at a right angle to the body, though....looks like Electro-ass was right.....NOT ! (oh...my...tooooo rich !) Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha !:crackup:

NOTHING wrong with either one of them - over-spec as usual, perfect cases, SHINY, etc....NOT substandard clearance items (duh !):crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup:
