Hey guys, I was thinking of grabbing a 25mw lasers before they are sold out.. Thing is, I was originally was going to buy a 15mw laser, but they are already sold out of those.. With the 25mw, if it accidentally reflects in my eyes even for a split second (I will be cautious for it not to, I'm talking just worst-case here) will I be fine? It just sucks so much that I couldn't get a 15mw..

Thanks in advance.

There is a chance that if it reflects off a mirror, or other highly reflective surface you could have some permanent damage. Also it could be 15mw or more overspec. Just be very careful.

ANYTHING shining direct into your eyes will screw up your sight. If it is 5mw or more, it can be permanent (according to the FDA here in the U.S.) but logically speaking, anything over ONE milliwatt will cause irreversible damage. Use eye protection - if you cannot afford goggles, then do NOT buy a laser !///Greg

Yeah, I guess you guys are right.. This would be a lot easier if eyes could just regrow/repair themselves, right? :p But your right, it's not worth it.

Thanks for the quick responses.

VERY smart ! If you decide to foray into the DIY field, AFTER you have goggles, drop me a note, I'll discount your first purchase heavily, as gratitude for one less pair of damaged eyes in the world :) (sales@stonetek.org) simply quote your username from here, and link to this thread as proof of identity :)///Greg

Guys, as I've said there is a reason for Clearance Sales. You still got very good deals from them, while maybe it's not always their premium unit it's still got to be much better than a lot of the junk coming from other vendors.

Remember it's still a Genuine CNI Laser, and there is a reason why when they re-stock the prices go back up. Their parent company (LaserGlow) does this from time-to-time too, Premium units do cost more, always have. For the price paid on these units, you've got a very good deal.

For the price paid you might not get one that is up to spec as much as a Premium unit, however I still believe you'll get a very good Laser; thus the reason there is no returns on this Clearance Sale of up 70%.

I've already had a few people contact me privately teasing me about how much extra I paid when I bought my Endeavor. As I explained to them, I bought a Premium Laser and not a Clearance item and the prices will go back up when they re-stock and test each one out and classify them.

In time they will again most likely discount some more Lasers that don't meet Nova's strict testing as a Premium Laser that commands top dollars.

Nova has always put out the best/highest quality CNI Laser, sure others sell the "same" thing, but it's their testing (QA) that sets their CNI sales above others. With some others, you pretty much get what ever CNI sent them, they simply re-ship it to you when you place a sales order for one.

Nova tests each one of their Laser's by hand, and that takes time and does weed out the ones that are not 100+% for it's given spec. So through that process you can slowly accumulate a supply of very good Lasers that maybe are not your normal Premium product you sell, so they get discounted and there is nothing really "wrong" with the Lasers; it's very normal in Retail to do that.

I'm sure for the price paid everyone would agree they got a very good deal. Just as I feel that the Premium Lasers I bought are worth what I paid for them as such.

Oh the discount code does not work for the Endeavor series, my understanding about that code is, it was intended for the X-series.

Grab them while they still have some clearance models available, cause when there gone, it's back to Premium products and no guarantee when/if and what will be available in the future.

Didn't mean to seem like I was teasing you, honestly. I can definitely see how it seemed that way though! :undecided: Was just excited that I was actually going to get a nice laser for once, haha.

Just as I feel that the Premium Lasers I bought are worth what I paid for them as such.

And that's all that matters! :D

Ahh, that makes sense.

If Electron doesn't want to write one, I will (I'm sure his would be better since has has more to compare it to, and possibly has an LPM).

No problem, it's just the Internet; I try not to let things bother me in a "virtual world".

As I live in the real world where people really know me, and I am the guy everyone turns to when they get disappointed results from others.

Not bragging here, but I've received employee of the month, quarter, and year several times that brought me awards such as $10k, week stay at a 5 star Hotel etc; not bad considering the 10,000+ employees to be recognized like that.

While I don't know everyone because of the size, everyone does know me cause of the awards and reserved parking space for that honor. :) That is the real kind of person I am and the world I live in, in the Virtual world we really have no idea who someone really is and/or their morals.

As for the review, go for it; I usually don't have a lot of time to do those and usual windup just posting some pics and Metered specs.

Well, I won a 7 day stay at Myrtle Beach during a raffle a few months ago! :D Haha, just messing.

I'll try to write a review in a few days when I have my laser and safety glasses. Might take a while since I just ordered the glasses yesterday from Focal.

Today, Millville (South Jersey, 45 minutes away from Cherry Hill). Tomorrow, Rutgers University, New Brunswick/Piscataway (incoming freshman). :D

Edit: I didn't even see the referral program they had ("For every new customer that you refer to our store you will receive 10% worth of their first purchase in LightYears."). If viewing my topic helps you decide to buy a laser, please refer asafswan@gmail.com in the comments section while you purchase your laser!

I agree with you Electron,
These are clearance items and will not be up the standards of their regular premium products. This why the have the fine print stating that there will be no returns or exchanges allowed and that they will only warranty it against total failure. If it has a crooked beam, higher than normal divergence or some other issue, the buyer is just stuck with the defect.
This is not to say there are not bargains to be had as long as the buyer isn't too picky about minor defects, or spec issues; just that clearance items in this case are not the normal premium products.
Most companies, ours included, after time aquire a bunch of products that are just a little under par that we know if sold to a customer would be sent back, so we just set the aside for the time being. I'm sure this is the case with these and these clearance sales can be good for both the company and the buyer. The company gets rid of old stock at a price of their cost or maybe even a little higher that they don't want to sell for full price and the customer can get a good discount on their price if they aren't too picky about things like divergence, beam angle or other minor defects.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea and we'll probably have a clearance sale at some point in the future, but it won't be at a 70% discount as our prices are lower to begin with and pricing margin is much lower than 70%, that's for sure.

WOW ! Never thought I would see the day when Jack agreed with that Electron moron.

Clearance sales do NOT mean sub-standard products - BUT.... that is your opinion, so go with it, your right to believe whatever you wish.

Nova has ALWAYS had top-notch lasers, have never sold anything underspec, or out of whack, alignment, or otherwise - those are FACTS, not opinions. BUT - anyone can type in on here whatever they wish to, and have loads of people read it, believe it, and spout off the same crap - so, unless someone actually receives something with a CROOKED BEAM (PUH-LEEEEZE !!! You guys make my head spin sometimes !@!! HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!), under-spec, "NON-PREMIUM" (WOW...I am SOOOO important, but I don't want ANYONE to believe I am, so I'll spout off total crap about my imaginary life - just like lies to SenKat about me {Speaking as Electron, here people) being a customs agent) lasers, or whatever - THEN I will believe the non-factual tripe being spouted ! :) Have a good day, life, whatever gentlemen and ladies - listen to FACTS, or opinions, your choice. Kiss Kiss ! ////Greg
