No big deal it just comes with a spacer. I've modded my 3xAAA mxdl to take 2xCR123A or a 18650. It's not hard. Heck, you can use an empty toilet paper/paper towell roll to do it.

true, but it looks pretty damn nice IMO design wise. Definatelly wouldn't mind getting a nice allu or cu heatsink and building a BR or OC laser out of it.

Oh I understand that, but I thought that for some people this host may be useful.

Yea, it's nice, but my favorite will always be this MXDL.

Well, for a flashlight its handy to have flexible power sources like that - AAA's or lithiums in one device. For building a laser you're likely to make your own driver and (possible) restrict battery choice with that anyway.

If it had a better emitter i'd buy one as a travel flashlight, handy for when recharching is not possible but AAA's are available.
