I think I'm going to get the Tool Kit Deluxe. It's a steal for the price after $100 and it has everything I want. I just hope they have some in stock by January 7th. Although they did say that they would accept rain-checks...

SparkFun Electronics - Voltage Regulator - Adjustable

LM317, for our laser driving needs :)

SparkFun Electronics - Voltage Regulator - Adjustable LM1117 SMD

LM1117, an SMD version of the 317. :)

I'm picking up a bunch of different components so I'll be stocked up for a while.:D

WOOOOW hold up. 1117 is a new voltage regulator, not SMD version of 317.
It has half a voltage drop of 317, but everything else is more or less the same. I've driven my PHR bluray off 2x 10440, not 3. Usefull thing, and nice replacement for 317.

Thanks for the clarification. I know they aren't exactly the same, "SMD version" was a poor choice of words. The point I meant to get across is that they're basically the same.

More voltage for the rest of us!:san:

LMAO
Yes, I'm totaly leaving the 317, and getting a stockpile of 1117, they provide new power options for laser diodes (like my bluray pen) or if nothing else, adding to battery lifespan! Very usefull things, I've thrown in like, 10 pcs in my cart to fill out the remaining budget...
BTW, Question: When I remove some quantity of pieces, and add a new thing to my cart, (thus, i believe increasing total weight) I cannot choose the USPS first class priority (which was about 20$ by last point) anymore. Only 40$ FedEX... does USPS have some sort of weight limit on the package?

Well, this is total BS. All I get when trying to create an account, or add anything to my cart, or even see a list of items, or go ANYWHERE on Sparkfun's site is:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

This is pissing me off. for the last 10 minutes, I can't even get a page to friggin' load. So I can't even add anything to my cart. Heck, I can't even SEE a product listing to pick anything.

I guess I'm crap out of luck for the free day.

:yabbmad: :yabbmad: :yabbmad: :cryyy:

EDITED to add:

Yeah. I've just spent the last 30 minutes trying to get any page to load at Sparkfun. I've only been able to get two product listing pages to load, but any "Add to Cart" click gives me the same errror message as above. I can click on "Create New Account" but I never get any further than that. Because none of these damned pages are loading!!!

F--k this.

[/ragequit]

EDITED again:

I got to the information page, to add my info to create an account. After hitting Submit, I got another blank "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page. I hit back, and got the same thing. Yeah, I lost all the info I just typed.

At this point, after 40 minutes, I'm giving up. Even if I already had an account, and my Cart full, I doubt that I'd even be able to f--king sign in and place my order.

F--k this AGAIN.

Yep. It is now 3 minutes into free day and the website seems to be completely inaccessible. I can't even imagine the incredible server load they must be experiencing. I cleverly filled my shopping cart a week ago, so all I need to do is checkout.

As I am typing this I managed to get to my shopping cart. The counter at the top of the website shows $0 given away, so it looks like the problems are affecting everyone equally.

EDIT: 15 minutes in now, $707 given away... Must...... keep.... trying........
EDIT 2: 20 minutes, $1600 given away. Now made it to the payment page. Just one more to go.......
EDIT 3: 23 minutes, $2700 given away. At the final page! Submit! SUBMIT!
EDIT 4: 26 minutes, $3000 given away. Still trying. They are completing about an order a minute it seems.
EDIT 5: 33 minutes, $4900. I keep getting returned to the final checkout page, which it says will happen if there are any errors.
EDIT 6: 46 minutes, $8500. STILL trying.
EDIT 7: 1 hour, 10 minutes, $18,000 gone. Refresh Refresh Refresh.
