Senkat's diodes are so much better.

These are 140mW pulsed compared to 250mW pulsed. Really no fight at all. I have tried 8x diodes before and they kinda suck IMO.

**Use caution when dealing with this guy....**

Some members on here have had to wait forever to receive their items from this guy....Also, he is from the same country as the fella that ripped me off for so much money ! (I KNOW that sounds wrong)

Let me make one thing clear, senkats diodes are WAY better thant these. (BTW, I didnt think they were 250mw... I thought they were like 200)

Actually, they are 250mw....even though I have exceeded that - as well as others have on several ocassions. There is nothing wrong with the 8x diodes, or even the 1x diodes - you just will not get the same performance (obviously) out of them as you would hte higher speed ones. My post in this section was not designed to discredit the 8x diodes, but to advise caution when delaing with someone who has known issues with shipping on time.....and honestly, I have NO idea how dang big South Korea is - I know it is ignorant, but it makes me pause a little bit when I see someone wanting to deal with someone from that country right now. Perhaps if my money were to be recovered I wouldn't feel so suspicious ! GAH !!! anywho - use caution when dealing with this guy - he ships slow ! (REALLY slow)

thank you senkat for your input,

I also did not want to make your diodes look bad, because they are NOT bad. these are nothong compared to the 16x diodes senkat sells.
Once again

Senkat diode>These diodes

Senkat also ships fast too

and thank you senkat for the warning, I wont buy from him if he has slow shipping, because that is my one pet peeve...

thanks all

I do not see the logic in buying those in the first place even from a reputable seller. You pay $25.00 for the pair and when you get them and read about the performance differences between the 140mw and 250mw diodes you will then be wanting 250mw diodes anyway. Plus most everyone always will want more power..lol. A pair of Senkat's diodes are only $39.00 shipped.

I have nothing against the Heurursciences guy even though others here may have. The 100mW module and diode he sent me worked great although it did not seem to perform as well as the GB diodes.

I think they are ROHM diodes by the way. There is a RH sign on the diode. And there should be no problem getting 100mW out of it.

I received my 8x Sony diodes from the geareb eBay seller in 2 weeks, postage to Australia. But I might have been lucky.

I must say though, the 8x diodes are really no match for SenKat's 16x beasts. I'm still a noob and only built my first red today with Daedel's LM317 circuit, and bought both the 8x eBay diodes and SenKat's 16x diodes (the 8x for testing/playing, the 16x for burning!) The thing about the 8x diodes is that not much information is available for them; I pushed it to 250mA (was afraid to go higher) and it just smoked a match for 30-45 seconds without lighting it while the 16x lit it within 5-10 seconds at the same amperage. The 8x was able to etch electrical tape but not cut it. I guess without more specs and users for the 8x it's difficult to know how far it can be pushed before it dies prematurely.

So my 2c is go for SenKat's diodes for burning. Don't really bother with the 8x ones. And ARGH I wish I had seen the one-day-15%-off-StoneTek-sale post when the offer was still active!!

just wanted to add a bit to this. the post did say cheap diodes. geareb is a good seller for cheap 8x diodes. best price ive seen so far for burning diodes. you cant buy single diodes though. thats not a really a problem though because chances are you will burn out a few diodes getting started. just dont use a money order... and you can get your item(s) within a week. (korea -> canada)
