There's a JDSU multi-line argon laser head and matched PSU inside, the PSU is 220v, there are also some cool optics and stuff. Two friends of mine have both gotten two of these and all four have been >120mW average on all lines. Bryce007 sold his, from the same type of sequencer to pontiacg5, it did/does ~120mW all lines too. These are a great deal, the head alone is ~$12,000 new I believe.

It is worth a few hours drive time. You will need to bring a truck and some strong friends. IIRC, the whole unit weighs in at ~300 pounds!

Not quite worth 14 hours in a car for me, but does look like a pretty good deal.

I think that the "obvious" part was that "I" posted it on a laser forum
The answer to the question "Any relation to lasers?" is a bit obvious.Now maybe the question "What laser is hidden inside" would have been OK
Also, simply searching "DNA sequencer" in the forum would have returned you several threads about these ( I and some others have posted when one of these become available) including this one
