quick question would this be enough to either see the beam or burn /smoke something(those are the two main factors im interested in) Thanks in advance III_REAPER_III

A mw is a mw, so yes to the burn/smoke, seeing the beam... in the dark yes, But it wont be nowhere near as bright as a green with the same power.

The board also has 2 pots. If they're for current and voltage you'd be able to whip out the old diode and swap it for a 200mw red from stonetek, maybe even a blu ray from daedal

I just grabed one as well hope they have good stock heh

The Driver looks like it is from a rotary laser level system.
I had a similar one in an old roto laser that i took apart
If you look at the right hand side you can see a second conection point

I don't think this contains a diode. Just a circuit board and a module housing. Must wait for the description though.

Looks like secong point is a miss spelled 'green'. Is the middle wire that's doing nothing used for TTL?

It wouldn't say Red laser if nothing was in it :-? the driver board could drive a green laser or maybe a PINK laser :D So theres no reason to believe and different from what is being sold ;)

it does say red laser circuit board and red laser module kit but nowhere does it say red laser diode. They do post misleading titles sometimes. Besides a circuit board to drive red lasers and one to drive a green dpss could be pretty different.

Still it is very possible it includes a diode. $3 for the module, $4 for the driver and $10 for a >70mW diode. Quite possible. Now if it were a pink laser, I'd snap it up in an instant. ;D

I ordered one as well. It seems like a great deal. Too bad they don't have real specs on most of their products - can't gripe about the price, though!

I still think its from a rotary laser level the 3 strand could conect to a speed control pot
