I bought a couple that just arrived (these, specifically). One does >60mW at ~406.5nm, and the other does >50mW at ~413nm. Yes there is a visible color difference, but it's quite subtle and doesn't show up on camera.

Do you have some sort of spectrometer?

Yes i did order these from valueoffer and i already got answer that he's going to send 5 green and 1 purple as replacement.

Never thought that would matter. Updated my location.

GOOD & yes it can matter when members give advice- different countries- different laws- by adding your location you may get a PM from a member that lives nearby-you may never know if that is left out at your profile.

Going to order these UltraFire Protected 10440 3.7V 500mAh Batteries (Pair) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
Would one of these fit with normal size AAA dummy into laser battery holder?

Hakzaw1 how did you open host to get laser out? Jim please don't double post, use edit button.

Yes, how else could I be showing the insides in post #217-??
I tried to push the inside out after removing the cap but it did not want to come out- I was hoping there was a wire unsoldered from the driver to the die pin , but that was not the case. To remove I grabbed part of theouside and twisted it so a crack formed in the outside part.. from there I just kept peeling away the outside a little at a time. I quess one could put a bit of tape over the front ( in order to keep bits of metal from getting into the face of the diode)
and using a hacksaw or dremel witha cutting wheel to cut a groove partway thru to make this hapen faster- I did not care that the host got ruinied - so use one for longer running these must be put into a good heatsink.

So yesterday my green pointer arrived, and today my charger, 2x batteries and 2x goggles were stuffed into my mailbox! Here are some beam shots
405nm&532nme-bayLasers - Imgur
one is 532nm, the sticker says 200mW but its unconfirmed. the other one is 405nm sticker says 5mW but it has to be at least 50. the green one seems brighter, but the 405 lights the white matches I have and the green doesn't. both burn black plastic no problem, and they both look great out in the night sky :D

pics were taken with cellphone camera (sorry for poor quality) in my room with smoke.

I have one of those on the shelf. I haven't found time
to calibrate it yet.
How did you manage a +/-0.5nm accuracy with a
spec stated resolution of 2nm...

Pretty cool, found one of them on ebay for 200 bucks. How hard is it to align/get it working?

Not sure... haven't done it yet..
You will need some stable reference wavelengths
across the spectrum range of your spectrometer.
The Alignment procedure is in the link in Cyp's Post.

The company that sells them for $200 charges
$300 extra to align them...

Yeah I just found there's an alignment instructions pdf there. Reading it right now...

Edit: doesn't seem very hard if you have the lamp to calibrate and an afternoon or two :p

Let's take a HeNe for example. It's 632.8nm exactly with no photons at either 632.9 or 632.7. It will show up on the graph as a Gaussian distribution from about 631.8-633.8. That's what the resolution means. The PEAK, however, will still be at 632.8. I'll try to remember to get a snapshot later if I get time.
