hey greg, ya wanna send me a few strips of this so I can compare it to Flamingpyro's silicone wire? I know that it's a different guage, but I think folks will want a direct comparison. I don't need much.. 1cm.

No - it means you have to spend a minimum of $10.00 in order to buy the wire - if wire is ALL you want, then sure - $10.00 worth of wire. I do not charge for shipping, so I'm pretty sure you could do the math here, why would I sell and ship out an item for $2.75, and then follow that with paying $1.44 minimum out of my pocket for shipping ? No - I will NOT start charging for shipping - I just set a bottom limit for orders.

Kenom - I appreciate your offer, but I have sold over 450 feet since I posted the thread on here, and I KNOW Jake will say something about the wire once he receives it, so no thanks.

I think you mean silicone (insulator) instead of silicon (conductor) :)

Unless it's silicon wire coated with PVC?...

More conductors, more resiliant to a bend radius...

In the business, we call them strands since it's all the same conductor. How many strands does it have?
I think 7 and 19 are common for this size. Any more and the wire gets fuzzy :)

Greg you always have the best prices for things! :) I may have to buy some in good time. Hope you don't run out! That would be a bummer!

Thanks,
Jeff

hey is the glass lens on your site for red .. or bluray?

It has the "standard multi-wavelength" coating is what I have been told. It workd great for red or blue, but is not specifically coated AR for either of them. Same lenses that I sent to Jayrob for his famous lens comparison thread.

Not sure where you got the silicon conductor thing from - wasn't me, though - was it ? I posted silicon insulated, as the title of the thread says...

Greg were you able to source the heat shrink?

Yes, I'll be picking it up tomorrow - my local shop didn't have it in stock, and rather than drive all over the damn city to find it, they did a transfer, and it is waiting for me now :) I'
ll pick it up in the AM ! Not 100% positive on price as of yet, but will post tomorrow the prices - and send Jake a sample - since he waited for it, and I'll be a day late with it !

Greg, I believe Cyparagon was referring to the term silicon the element vs. silicone the synthetic material. Just a simple typo. :sold::sold::sold::sold:

Whatever it is I'm a buyin' it!

I'm saying silicon is a conductor. You cannot insulate a conductor... with a conductor.
Silicone on the other hand is an insulator

So sorry - the silent E gets me EVERY time !

Just like the E in asshole... Just sayin'... ( you DID get me, though - gotta hand it to you on that one ! +1 Cyparagon !)

just because it has silicone insulation dose not mean it's the same as the wire I sell, how many conductors are in the wire,
since it is one size larger than mine it should have many many more conductors, mine has 64 conductors and that is
why it can carry 5 amps with out getting warm ! and why it is so flexable.
most PVC wire of that size will only have 7 conductors.
How many conductors dose your 24 gauge silicone wire have in it ?
it should be stated on the reel the wire came on or a tag attached to it.
