Lol, I love how when you type Nova lasers or Dragon lasers into Google, the sponsored Wicked Lasers link is the first to come up but with the Nova lasers/Dragon lasers as the title description :p

actually, i just want to point out - reading google's terms and conditions, WL *is* allowed to show up as an ad for a term trademarked by another company, but is *not* allowed to use that trademark in the ad text. ie, if they want an ad when someone types "optotronics" that's fine, but they're not allowed to have "optotronics" as the title description (or anywhere within the ad). plus, if optotronics, nova, dragon and laserglow complained to google in writing, they would stop wicked lasers from doing what they're currently doing.

It's pretty f-in cheap IMO. Well if they want to blot out the competition, they better damn well be the first to come up, otherwise people are going to learn quick about who to go to.

Scam.... hmmm... well it says Nova Lasers (or the others) in bold and directs to WL. That's a sponsored link too so is that false advertising? I think so. But then again, it's CHINA so what the hell can you do....

Sorry, but how is that as scam? :-/
because the title of the ad is the name of another company - you could be tricked (if you were new to lasers) into thinking say, optotronics is the company at www.wickedlasers.com.

while WL is not very touchable directly, due to being in china, google themselves must abide by US trademark and copyright law, and thus must remove those ads if the trademark holders complain. i've actually sent PMs to representatives of all those companies here, explaining that, and directing them to the google adwords trademark complaint form thingy.

Yeah.. When I heard about Nova lasers I went to google them because I didn't know their website and I clicked the first link which said Nova Lasers and it brought me to Wicked Lasers lol. Then I just typed in novalasers.com and got to the site.

Yeah that is pretty desperate of Wicked Lasers to do.
I don't know about that... there are many more people that buy lasers than just the ones you see on the forums. Their company could be BOOMING. They are just using an aggresive marketing strategy.

Agressive, illegal, and immoral. Not that I am certain it bothers them in the least. Hell - I felt guilty asking someone to click the ads on my site to see if they worked for God's sake - which I am certain is wrong, and I DO feel guilty about it, but that is my cross to bear. I cannot even imagine how shitty I would feel if I did the same as Wicked does on a daily basis. Their entire company profile is built around deceit, and fraud. I only know of a HANDFULL (Yes, I have large hands, if that matters) of people that have WL products that function as advertised. all the rest have been ripped off. with the exception of the non-functional sonar case, and hte shades, and dragon cases, I wouldn't suggest ANYTHING of theirs to anyone, for any reason - and will do what I can to fight off their despicable nature. I despise them for what they have done, and the google misleading ad campaign is yet another straw on the camels back. I wonder exactly WHAT their sales are now, and what it will be like when the word gets out ? I think I need to warm up the old domain and get to paying for top of hte search results....get the news out where it belongs - hopefully some folks will be smart enough to see the truth.

We have taken action with Google and the illegal ads which infringe on our trademark should soon disappear. I'm always amazed at the new depths to which WL will sink in order to get a few poor noobs to their website.
