so these two are tested to be real 200mw?they have ir filter or is 200mn with ir?

They state 10% tolerance so could be 180-220.
Last two I got measured 201 & 214.
I know nothing about ir filter. I would guess no filter but don't know.
You can contact them on ebay and ask.

Hi all I finally buy this above.you can adjust the focus from the head.i measure 380mah at 4v li-ion cell.how many mw is the output according to this?when I focus as a line I feel that it burn on my hand.sometimes can burn a match at 20 cm.but output look really stable.what you thing guys?

Hard to tell how many mW´s. For normal brass modules 380mA would be according to about 50mW, or even less, and 610mA-700mA to real 200mW.

Normal matches can be burnt with a 200mW greenie with no problem. Even a 100 mW greenie can burn some of them. Those strike anywhere matches can be even burnt with less power.

So such match tests are not really accurate to check the amount of power. The quality of matches also differs from batch to batch and manufacturer to manufacturer.

50mw only?i think is more about 120mw.seller say is 200mw with no filters.i tested another 50mw dx module at work at 500mA is much weaker tban this work at 380mA!really strange!

Not at just 380mA with the typical crystal setup. Exept yours has an incredible efficiency. A 100mW one is taking somwhere between 480 and 520mA, and my examples are given to the good ones with good efficiency.

You absolutely cannot tell the output power by the input current. When they make a batch of these they set all the drivers the same, put in the crystals, then sort them out by power. That's why a 50mw module will take the same current as a 200mw one.

The fact that you have one running at 380ma surprises me. Usually all of them run higher than that. You may be safe turning the current up to around 500ma for more power. If it has the same diode they usually use in these it should be able to handle it. I would try it, but know that it may blow.

True. That´s why I said my examples are related to the ones with already a very good efficiency. Those with a bad one can take 700mA and more but just output 30mW. So you never know without a LPM, but only 380mA is way to low for a 200mW greenie. Even for a 100mW one.

Seller say that the good laser work low current at high output and stable output.he say also that he can adjust the current at 700mA but this will shorten the life of the laser from 4000hr to just 200hr!also output isn't stable if current is higher than normal.

The strange things that with good focus burn a match.if you focus as a line is well focus better than anything else!even as a straight light you can't stand in your hand the beam as it really burn!seller say if I use a filter output go to 100-120mw instead of 200mw that is now with no filter?you believe is honest or not?

Well. The seller will tell you a lot of good night stories to make profit and let you belive you got a 200mW one. For the cash you´ve spend you at least should get a real 200mW one. But the current draw is simply to low for a real 200mW greenie, exept his lasers are using some kind of extraordinary cristals with an extraordinary efficiency way above the production norm.

You will never know without LPMíng it.

So like said. You can even burn a match with a 50mW greenie if focused to a pinpoint. That´s not a accurate way to measure the strenght of a laser, so it´s up to you whom you belive more. A seller who will sell you everything to make profit, or unbiased and experienced users in this forum.

You better first spend some cash for a LPM rather than throwing a lot of it on inaccurate lasers.

If you will add your locations to your profile pages the forum will be able to better understand what you advising or asking.

Most forum memebrs will be happy to meter any lasers for free- but we need to know your locations before we can even offer this-

LPMs range form inexpensive to costly- but they are all generally easy to sell some day if you find yourself no longer having a need for one.
My Radiant 'Alpha' is up for grabs- PM anyone wanting details- works great.
