Default What's up with these greenees?

Hi,

Does any one know why these green laser pointer are less than $12 in Ebay? *http://cgi.ebay.com/Best-5mw-532nm-G...QQcmdZViewItem

Even if they are not great, would the barrel serve as a good host with rkcstr's drivers?

TIA...

They are cheap because they are mass produced so much in China. The barrels are hard to take apart but they still do make a good host.

There basically the same as DX pointers, cheaper because they bought in bulk. DX just raises there prices for a profit, but its just a pile of junk really. Take the risk and buy on i would like to see the quality.

Use it as a "throw down",

when the cops try to mess with you, you give up the 5mW
& keep your good powerful one.

Took the chance, tho i got the same thing for 5buks (5mw green), and when I first powered it up on fresh batteries the laser is nice and strong then the beam dims by half almost instantly, never really seen lasers before so I dunno what 5mw looks like so I presume after it dims its at 5mw's.

Took it outside on a clear night and when I first turned it on you could see the beam, then when it dimmed the beam was quite faint, however after looking over the forum a 5mw really shouldn't have a beam u can see at night clearly?

Well in pitch black it has a nice beam but outside it has a very dim beam unless its pointed at you =]
