Hey guys,I just found this laser 500mW 600mW 700mW Laser Pointers- Warnlaser.com
Apparently, you can buy a 1300mW 532nm green laser for 2480$ and if that is true, that would be the world's most powerful handheld green laser. Am I right?
What do you guys think how it will perform? How many mW? Is that a reputable company?
My guess is about 700mW tops with lots of IR.

At that price I would hope that it is as advertised.
At that price one might think that it could actually be that powerful if they figured out how to build it into a handheld host.(not an easy thing to do)
Seems to me that $2480 is a bit too much to gamble with though.
My two cent's.

I can't think of any reason why this couldn't be true.

If they were selling it for $300, I'd call BS, but for $2,500 it's on par (a bit above) what you could find a 1,300mW 532nm labby for.

So it's not so much a question of whether the components can be supplied at that price range, but rather whether the components that are engineered into 1,300mW labbies can be portable-ized (sp?).

The big obvious challenges I see are 1) current supply 2) heat dissipation.

The current supply issue can be solved with a LifePo4 (some can do up to 20A). Heat is probably going to be an issue still, but perhaps the duty cycle is 30 seconds? Those are big hosts. I know that I had a 450mW 532nm in a similar host that ran for over 10 minutes once without any heat issues. So quadruple the heat, and I'd still say these hosts could take it for a short duty cycle.

Well the question is, who makes the module? I know most of the modules for these "cheapo" (HAH. This isn't cheap) websites are made by CNI, and CNI's max green module I think is 800mW, right?

mybe they use that 800mW module but it is "slightly" overspec :)

lol i call bullcrap
instead of ripping you off $300
they make it $2000+ to make you "think" its legit
so you end up wasting $2000+....

I won't say that this IS legit, but I'll stand by my perspective that there's no reason it COULDN'T BE for the $2500 price tag.

This is a weak argument, but WickedLasers at least *thinks* they've got a "1,000 mW" for $999. Of course, there are tons of unknowns... for one, WL has a bad track record, their Arctics were under spec, and they're technically only labeling the Krypton as "< 1,000 mW".

BUT, it's still a laser that we can point to as being from a company that actually sells them. Unlike WarnLaser, I'm sure WickedLasers will actually sell a bunch of these guys. Hey, even if the Krypton turns out to be 600mW for $1000, then a simple linear extrapolation puts 1,300 mW at just under $2,500.

Or, you can snag at least 500mW of 532nm in a FireDragon host for under $400, and at that, you may end up with an overspec unit pushing more like 600 or 700. Even at 500mW of 532nm for $400, a 1,300 mW unit (again, linear extrapolation, not perfect) would clock in at around $1,000.

Of course, we can't just linear extrapolate everything here, otherwise we'd have 10W 445s for $300 in parts. But some of these comparisons are at least close enough in range that the extrapolation doesn't seem unreasonable.

Again, who knows of THIS $2,500 laser can do 1,300 mW of 532. But I don't see any reason why A laser could do that output for that price tag, in a portable form factor.

Hey I know this is an old post, but I thought I would update it for people searching it up. Warnlaser now has ads on this website so thats why I'll update it. So that laser that you see there is actually from a company called BOB LASER. I asked Kevin from bob laser and he told me it would cost about $700. Its called the BGP-1018 if anyone is wondering. They also sell one other laser from bob laser. Warn laser really rips you off making you pay over double the real price so I advise you don't buy from them
