It was dropped about one foot onto a hard floor. The glue holding the IR filter/crystal assembly together broke. I told the person that did not to touch the laser. I am pissed. Especially since I wanted to take it to Chicago with me for some snow pics. I have though about trying to temp fix it so I can still get some decent pics and send it in for repair once I get back.

The real reason I am really ticked off about it is that I was going to send it back to Jack for an upgrade to a 325/350 in the new style.

Now for some pictures.

Crack in something. I assume a lens.

Another view.

dang that sucks, I know how you feel man :-/ I've had idiots touch things they wern't suppose to and broke them or did something stupid with it or almost if I didn't stop them...I already said this a long while ago but this feels similar to when someone snatched my alpha right after I said if it were to hit someone in their eye's it would blind them permanently and then tried to blind me with it, luckily it had a delay and I decked the guy as hard as I could :-/ stupid people now a days....

If I were you I would make them pay for the repairs. People really need to think before they do something that involves large sums of money/something valuable. lol, like the guy who sold 450000 shares of his company for 1 yen instead of 1 share for 450000 yen ::)

Hey, Artix. Last time you told that story, the guy said "cool" and pointed it at his eye and then you punched him. ::) Or maybe that was a different story...Idiots...

I believe that lens on top is the output coupler. Viasho should be able to supply you with a new one for a relatively good price. If it isn't under warranty, I can take a look at it... I've re-aligned my prometheus maaaaaannnnyy times so I know them pretty well inside and out. In the mean time, contact viasho about getting a new output coupler (this may actually just be a lens in the collimating assembly, but I have a feeling it's the OC)

Send me a PM if you want me to take a look at it

I'm going to send it to Jack. He said I'll have to wait a few days though since it's been busy. I probably would send it to you if it wasn't for the fact that the tiny lens thing got cracked. I won't be going home until the 1st so I have some time to think about it. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. I might end up selling this RPL and buying one in the new finish since I want a more powerful one.
