Re: NOOB

hmm ... i tried cleaning the lens but still couldn't get rid of the cast off ... the triangles went away but still there is a lot of light around the laser dot

so i pulled the lens all the way out and cleaned it with alcohol better
i got some of the cast off to go away but there was still a significant amount and the lens appeared to be very clean even when looking through it at a light.

so with that in mind and only 24 dollars in the laser pointer i broke out the dremel and cutting wheel

i cut 1 1/2 - 2 inches down one side of the laser pointer then just slightly wiggled the laser module out

i unscrewed the front lens holder off the rest of the module and noticed the lens closest to the crystals is glued in kinda cockeyed ... i bet that is why my laser beam comes out at an angle ? what do you think? .. i am still not sure of the reason the cast off is there i may do some experimentation to see what i can do.. any suggestions?

Re: NOOB

Yes, you should probably change your topic title.

Also, give it time, especially with a name like this.

Personally, I don't know a lot about your problem so I can't help you.

At least it's bumped.

Re: NOOB

That squint lens could be the problem with the angle of the beam being off center, but does that matter now that you have ripped it apart ?

Re: NOOB

well yeah ... lol i hate the beam being cocked sideways ... the way i removed the module i only have a line down ones side and everything is still held snug if i put it all back together ...

i could have my laser pointer back in a rough looking condition with just a couple of drops of super glue actually i have been testing it by putting it back together temporarily...

i noticed there was just a piece of foam under the board so i replaced that with a piece of hard plastic cut to fit perfectly under the board and in the barrel
