You're probably increasing the pump power, but extra pump energy isn't converted to green.

The crystal assembly in these pointers is smaller than a mechanical pencil's graphite rod. Even a CNI 50mW pointer's crystal assembly has over three times the volume. There's only so much you can do with so little material.

well, I'm not an expert and have no modding experience but...
the LM358 is a dual comparator. This looks like an op amp constant current source. The SOT-89 device beside the comparator might be a reference voltage reg...
Q1 on the second pic might be what the comparator is driving,
Turning the pot and you see no distinguishable output because all it does is open and close voltage tolerances, diodes are current regulated, not voltage regulated.

Getting more current output may be simply increasing the gate current to the transistor, or find a new transistor with a higher Ic and hFe...or both.
