Temperature vs output

Lately ive noticed with my 30mW DX newwish that it has no output when its a bit cold. For it to fully light up it has to be heated up, holding down the button does this but this takes a few minutes while the intensity is flickering etc. Holding it in front of a heater is much quicker.

Is my laser faulty, i had a diffrent one a while ago and it was never this bad, when it was cold the output was a bit low but this one outputs nothing at all (not even a faint dot on the wall)

Try buying NEW good quality batteries, if that makes no difference then warming it up first will be your only option i'm afraid.

Its not the batts, i was powering it off my variable lab supply. When its cold the currant fluctuates up and down till it warms up then it becomes stable
