should opto 100mw sting

recently i got me a 100mw from opto and pretty well pleased but the laser doesnt really sting my hand. in my apartment during day hours should the beam be very visible? it isnt much different then the luckyduck 5mw during day hours inside my room. out in the country the beam is bright and seems to go forever. just not sure if is really putting out 100 mw... maybe i thought i would get more out of this so far. im using triple a energizer premiums alkalines. should i use rechargeables? which ones? should i send it back to opto to see if it is up to par?

I just bought a Megagreen/BlueSky Lasers 50mW unit that stings my hand in about 5 sec. from a foot away. I can see the beam inside with all the windows undraped & can see the spot outside at over 100 ft. at high noon. My LPM says its putting out 110mW's. peak & 75mW's average. I'm using 2 X AAA Energizer Lithiums, but they're used & not putting out peak voltage. Make of this info. what you will.....................rob

It definately should sting. I have the +150 and it stings almost instantly. Question, is your laser hot from your hand? I ask because the nature of these lasers is that they work better when it is cold/cool approx. 68º~78º. Try it cooler I have noticed mine loosing power when it is really warm because of the high power diode generates lots of heat. let me know how it turns out. What was the output on the laser written on the instruction sheet? 107mW?

Hi BIGMIKE, nice to hear from ya. How did those camera lens burners work for you ? As for the laser, Google up BlueSkyMarketing or MegaGreenLasers they are affiliated with each other. I paid just over $100.00 delivered to my door, but I think I caught the tail end of a sale. Traveller tells me he paid $180.00 for his in DEC. WITHOUT the S&H fees !!!!..............rob

the paper that came with the laser said 105mw.
