Hi Guys!

I recently purchase a green laser Class IIIA 532nm 10000mw and had some questions I hope some of you can answer :

Is it dangerous to stare at the visible laser beam only seen at night?

Is it dangerous to stare at the laser dot on a white wall several feet from the wall?

Does the device emit radiation that can be hazardous to humans?

Can regular sun glasses protect the eyes from direct exposure?

NO!!!

Also there is no such thing as a 10000mW 532nm except in a lab laser that will cost many thousands of dollars.

Please post a thread in the welcome area and finish filling out your profile or you won't get off to a good start here.

Class 3a does not cover 10w. You have a class 4 if it is above 500mw

No chance you have a 10w green laser. And if it was it would be class 4

be very careful for reflecting light bouncing back at you,
pointing a beam into the night sky and circling stars should be fine,
you have 2 types really,static beams (from pointers) and scattered beams (from disco lasers) static beams you should never stare directly into or point anywhere near the face area,scattered beams differ slightly as they are constantly on the move so there's less chance of a full power beam in the eye,hence when you're in a night club the laser patterns might be beaming onto the crowd,
it would be tricky to find out if there's an ir filter on the unit without taking the unit apart,which isn't advisable as they can be tricky to put back together if taken apart,hope this helps :)

Anyone can sell you a laser with a sticker claimming it is 1 000 000mw when it is just 100mw. There's no way the laser is portable 10000mw.

Be careful of posting on really old posts DEATH BY LASER CANON unless you have important information that warrants adding on to and reviving the old post.
BTW I can put a label on any of my hand held laser stating it is a <10000mW laser and it will be totally accurate and true. You see a 5mW, 100mW, 350mW and a 3400mW laser are all less than 10000mW
Very misleading but true :D
