I was thinking of ordering the 100mw green FLX from Rayfoss their really arent any reviews for it. ive definately heard good things about their 50mw and 200mw FLX. 50 is too low and the 200 is much too pricey for me. But if anyone has anything to add on eithe the 100mw FLX or any other 100mw greenie's for similar price please let me know.

Hey there if you haven't already ordered it I have placed my order same laser from rayfoss and if you would like I will let you know how it is at first I am new here but I'm getting quite familiar with lasers. My review might not be as reputable but it will be a review.

I got one a few months ago.
They burn/light matches pretty well. Mine peaks slightly to around 115mW, then settles at 109mW ... pic
I don't think the divergence is very good on mine (~1.8mrad), but it is a sturdy build, the battery lasts a long time, and it has the FDA safety features. Not bad for $75. :yh:

i already ordered it, i weighed the pros and cons and the pros won. i asked for an extra batteries plus some laser safety goggles, costed me all together $89. 75 for laser, 5 for shipping, free IR filter, 4 dollar for extra battery, 5 for goggles.

Well Faona said she sent the first parcel including the laser itself first class batteries in flat mail i received the laser today and it looks like a cheap ebay laser its nothing at all what i ordered what should i do?

Immediately contact Faona and let her know that they sent the wrong laser.
She will probably ask for pictures of the laser as well as a picture of the packaging it came in.

But it has FDA safety features so it should have been confiscated now that i think about it. Right?

Not likely. I don't think so. If that did happen, you should be able to tell if the packaging was opened and re-taped.

Not correct. Just because a laser has some of the FDA safety features, doesn't mean that customs can't take it away. Customs is not the FDA, but they go by the FDA's rules on importing lasers.
See: CFR 21 subchapter J, Part I sections 1002 – 1040.11
 BTW, the FLX only has 2 of the 5 required FDA safety features anyway.
FDA requirements for Class 3b and 4 lasers:
1. key-controlled operation
2. warning lights to indicate laser light emission
3. a beam stop or attenuator
4. an electrical contact that the user can connect to an emergency stop or interlock.
and the most important one:
5. All laser products entering the USA must be
registered with the FDA to legally enter the country. (ie: given an accession number)
Rayfoss' FLX only has 1. and 3.
But, that doesn't stop them from trying. :shhh:

Customs would not switch it on you. They would just confiscate it, and send a letter to you indicating that they intercepted contraband.
Most likely just a Rayfoss slip-up. :thinking:

Ok. I dont want to be a part of giving rayfoss another bad rep because 80+ percent of what I read before I ordered was that rayfoss is very trustworthy. Faona is great with customer service thats a plus. So I just hope that she gets back to me when she is at work. You have the laser, so im sure its a mix up. Hopefully she will be just as helpful about this issue. I was sold on o-like but decided to go with rayfoss after all the good reviews

Plus I'm hearing that this is most likely a mistake and I think Faona will be as helpful as she was before I ordered.
