Could someone please tell me what these ~50mw 510nm laser diodes sell for? and where can i get 1 ?

If any of us knew there'd be more reviews out there... the only ones available are at thorlabs for ~$4000

There aparently for some micro projector for a cam or something and they are hard to find unless you have an unlimited amount of cash! whatever they come in hasnt been released yet so we cant get em cheaper. And I was called a 'Serial' Diode Killer so I may have to get someone else to wire it up for me.. lmao.. Killed 4 pl450B's as of late.. and a ton of other diodes..

I think he still wanted a definite source ;)
Just give them a few more months... the 510's are obselete now that 531's are made, we just need to get their "useless junk" diodes before they get rid of them ;)

I dont have any green yet, thaught about buying a module but thaught I could wait for a diode...

Next on the list is an S06J. I'm sceered! At leist the mits110 lived.. I have a few diodes not even tested yet still in the baggies from DTR maybe I should give the h1600 a go again.. I have a 2.5W h1600. tested it on the ophir thinking maybe it was 2600mw but nope it was 2530 after I deducted the 6mw ophir reading.

What glass lens did you use for these builds? I'm thinking of giving the 405-G1 a try. Might even try a 650-G1.

Damn it! I'm just finding out about these? I stop coming around here in a last ditch effort to save my wallet from dying of malnutrition (he's lost so much weight), finally come back thinking alright its gotta be out of my system by now, I can look at least, maybe even put some stuff up for sale, and after just a few minutes browsing through some threads I'm doing calculations to see if I can squeeze one more toy into the budget.

You gotta love that irritated glare you get when checking for the post man every five minutes and running to the door when you hear the truck in the driveway, as your opening the door you hear her mumble something about being with a four year old.

I want one anyway!

Osram Opto launches direct-emitting green laser diodes

Osram Opto Semiconductors GmbH of Regensburg, Germany says that it is now offering its first direct-emitting green diode lasers. The two compact indium gallium nitride (InGaN) laser diodes have optical output powers of 30mW and 50mW, respectively (at 25°C), as well as high beam quality, which is key to the development of miniature projectors for mobile devices such as smartphones and cameras, adds the firm. Other applications include projection units for laser shows, point lasers and line lasers.

Direct green diode lasers are a key step toward powerful pico projectors, eliminating the laborious method of producing green light by doubling the frequency of an infrared laser. The new technology also enables high color rendering and contrast to be achieved, says Osram Opto.

The new PL 520 laser diode’s wavelength range of 515-530nm produces the appropriate green colour for projection applications, the firm notes. Optical output is 50mW and efficiency is typically 5-6% at present. In addition, the PL 515 laser diode offers an output of 30mW in the wavelength range 510-530nm. With a TO-38 package diameter of just 3.8mm the lasers can enable the dimensions of projection units to be reduced considerably. “The commercial breakthrough for compact laser projectors is closer than ever before,” reckons Stephan Haneder, marketing manager for Consumer Lasers at Osram Opto....
