Recieved my DL HU 400mw

Hello everyone,

I just recieved my Dragon lasers 400HU :drool:

I just have a few questions regarding this laser for anyone who has the same.

Mine didn't come with a Battery charger.
Website states •Free universal battery charger

Also when i turn it on, there is a 5 sec delay before the beam is shown ?
Is this normal ?

That's a sweet laser you've got there. Congrats!!! :beer:

I'd email them about the charger, there is a chance they sent it separately. The 5 second delay is a safety feature, it's supposed to do that.

Ok i sended an e-mail to them about the charger.

Another thing i notice is that when the laser is turned on, it has a weak start and after 2 sec or so the beam becomes visable and powerfull.
It's like it's glowing stronger the longer it's on.
Is that normal ?

Hmm...

I'm beginning to doubt about the laser's output!

The light is fluxuating around the dot.

The package it came in (static bag) wasn't sealed.

Also the lens shutter seems like it's boiled when shutted and looking at it.
There also wasn't a sticker infront of the lens.

Im beginning to get frustrated!

I also have a LPM ... but's it's handmade by someone i bought it from, so maybe that's faulty. (trying to get my hands on a laserbee)

But the Idea when switching on the unit and it starts very low and builds up to a point i think is not near 400mw :gun:

Can someone help ?
Should i contact Frank ?

You mean TE00 modes ?

Anyways it's weird how it is powering up so slow :undecided:

Is your or "the" battery full ? are the batt. contact points clean ? things like that could couse problems.

Try a good full battery and warm it up in your hands or "somehow" till it feels warm ( till about 86.F 30.C )

I'll start right away...

What is TE00 (wich you believe i'm maybe seeing)

And yes it's powering on really slow (not like in the video's you see around)
So i really hope it's an battery issue..

i checked the contacts, and the one on the + side (tail cap) wich seems to be copper ? is dirty. (gone clean it)

Im using an Ultrafire (standard blue) TR18650 2400mAh 3.7 volts that came with a green laserpointer wich as said to be around 200mw that i allready own.

Charged it with the Ultrafire wf-139 rapid charger for the second time sinds i used it with the 200 mw laserpointer.

The dot of that laser is brighter when once pressed then the hulk ultra after the 5 sec (safety?) delay.

I also have a pair or 2 Soshine 18650 li-on 2800mAh batterys.

I've just watched the beam closely and it looks like (trying to explain here)

Laser goes on-

Weak beam-

Goes a little more powerfull-

Dims down again-

Then come's to a point were you can actually see the beam and the laser builds up in beam and dot sight.

But this all goes very slow.

TEM00 is mode hopping and that is when the laser comes unstable and the dot goes from TEM00 to near TEM00 and it can hop into TEM01 and that is a lot of power loss and the dot is not a dot anymore but more like a split dot 2 half circles or even worse

What i don't see in that video is that the surrounding light around the bright spots is blinking.

Like the spot is bright enuf not to blink, but the surrounding light is almost like it's blinking, like power is not fedded.

That's why im trying to get a laserbee LPM to really get this frustrating out of my head, couse it's so damn expensive.

The dot is bright... but it takes like 10 sec before it's up to (need to LPM it) specs.

But it's frustrating and yes it's a LOT of money.

Contact Frank and ask him all of these questions.

We can't help you too much, but he can.

From what you say, it doesn't sound like a battery problem to me, however I would try to replace the battery just to be on the safe side, before sending it back to China.

There's like a 3 step delay.... Low Mid.. High ?

When i put the beams of both pointers to the sky i see the hulk ultra having a vibrating beam before it goes full power (?--LPM)

I would email Frank a link with that video. That "flashing" around the dot is strange. And for that price I'd want if perfect.
