Reccomend me a pocket sized powerfull green laser!

(note: Im pissed off that I just created a massive post, then it said I cant post a link, so now I have to start from scratch)

Im looking for a POCKET SIZE green laser pointer...

with the sole purpose of showing off its burning ability and beam/range at night...

my budget is ideally £80 ($160. inc shipping)... what are my chances?

please reccoment specific realiable websites as I want to purchase one within the next 24 hours...

(just keep in mind... POCKET SIZED, BURNING WOW FACTOR....... and £80.max $160 budget***)

***will exceed budget if absolutely worth it.. but not by much (not because I cant afford it, just because I dont think its worth paying tht much for something like a laser pointer...)

Yeah, dx is probably the only place where you can get high powered lasers for cheap. Although sometimes it's a matter of luck. Since all of the lasers are mass produced, some of them are deffective, if you get a bad one you can replace it, although shipping takes a long time. But still, you can't beat the price. ;D

Oh, and please don't post multiple threads, I don't know why you need an answer so quick, but this is a forum not a chat room.

DX 200 is the only one to go for with those limitations.

why is ebay so bad, this one looks good, and it ships FROM The uk, not some dodgy place in China..

I am scared to buy it from over seas incase theyres problems at customs as the limit here is ike 5mw...

Because most of the ebay lasers are underpowered and don't have an IR filter. Especially the one above, it looks like a rip off. That looks like the laser dx sells, only painted a different color.

I would say to go with a Nova Laser, for your budget the X75 would probably be best. You can see the beam indoors, pop balloons easily, cut electrical tape, probably light sharpied matches; and even though it's over your budget if you buy it, the lens holder with optics can make some really cool light effects, and the collimator lens (included in lens holder with optics) can help burn stuff even faster at close range.

I personally don't own a Nova Laser (I would like to some day), but I've heard from several people on this forum that you'll more than likely get above the stated power, more so around 90mW of PURE GREEN, they filter 99.5% of the IR, which the Deal Extreme lasers don't, the 200mW is probably around 50%+ of IR. I would say go with the X75, and if you have some more money available, buy the lens holder with optics, plus you get a 3 month warranty on your laser. And I always thought that the Nova Lasers X Series looked pretty cool.

All in all, I think you would be happiest with the Nova Laser, you can burn stuff, get at least 75mW of green laser (most likely more), next to no IR, 3 month warranty, and you can always buy more stuff for your laser at their website.

Dx lasers do have IR filters, only their not top quality. They say the lasers don't include them just to avoid law suits in case one laser misses the filter. In case some IR leaks out, I don't think it'll be a lot, and it can't really damage your eyes since it comes out of the laser like light coming out of a flashlight. So as long as you're not standing in front and really close to the laser, you don't have to worry about it.

Go Novalasers....

Get as much power as is within your Budget..and KNOW that they will send you a laser that will Exceed your expectations of Power and Quality.

Imagine the EGG on your face when you take out that DX200 to show someone it's AWESOME ABILITIES..and it DIES right there in your hand...

Well if you want, and if you can since you said your budget was 160 bucks, then of course you should go with nova.
All I'm saying is that for the price dx lasers aren't half bad.

DX Lasers aren't that bad for the price, but for anything over $100 for a laser I would go with Nova, or a more reputable company. I wouldn't consider buying anything more than $75 from them, after my KD 50mW gets here, my next laser will probably be an X75.

I think the best bang for your buck would probably be the X100 laser from nova. Its over your budget but you would definitely be able to light matches and plus there have been some POWERFUL X100 lasers being sent out 2 people on this forum received an average of 120mW from this laser. Just a thought

Save that money for NOVAlasers. I just received my X175 and this thing can burn through just about everything that you throw at it. If you want an interim solution to impress your friends for a while, go with a cheapo model from DX, but save whatever that is left over for the X-series. I've been cutting electrical tapes for the past half an hour with the X175, and it's hilarious.
