Hm i could if i focused the dot to within about 2 inches of it, it was one of the red matches and it lit in about 4sec.

How many ma was it using?

running DDL circuit on SenKat diode (pre-installed in aixiz) on 250mA's. according to senkat thats 250mW right?

Hm i dont know then thats what i was running mine at, what color was the matches were they kind of a dull red? maybe the lens had alot of dust and lowered the output? Kinda weird because they should be getting about the same power.
