so im thinking about to buy : www.rayfoss.com

the support told me that it is CLOSE to TEM00. now i asked what close to TEM00 means and he answered: The dot of the green laser is factually in single round style.

It is a TEM00 model. Close to TEM00 is a professional description.

so what is close to TEM00? would i be better of buying a 'not close but exactly' TEM00? im kind of confused..

pls help

sincerely

As far as I know it either is TEM00 or it is not. If you examine the dot and its a single round point then its tem00 if you have two points next to eachother then its tem01 etc etc

the duty cycle of the 500mW on dino direct is the worst ive ever seen.

also i want insurance that i got a class 4 laser and not some sort of underspec thing.
the host is not mine also.

i figured that the 'close to TEM00' means that it has a ~90% round dot, not exactly 100. but it is still considered TEM00.

I suppose - though 20 seconds on / 10 seconds off doesn't seem totally offensive. At least it's a 66% on duty cycle. I question whether it wouldn't be just as happy with 1 minute on, 3 minutes off.

But ya - I mean it's $300 for 500mW - I wouldn't expect it to be CNI quality ;)
