Default Is protection needed for 95mw green lasers?

Hi, I was wondering what conditions warrant saftey goggles for anything around this mw? Can I shine the light on a bright day and not risk damage to my eyes? Obviously the glasses are to protect from an accidental reflection or direct exposure, but is this power weak enough where just normal pointing on non-reflective surfaces or even the night sky to not require them?

See forum, this is what I'm talking about. Paranoia everywhere.

Rage, I sometimes use my 2W 445nm laser inside at night with no goggles.

You need goggles if you are pointing around a lot of shiny/metal stuff, if you are burning stuff, or playing with optics pieces.

For general pointing around, inside or outside, at night or day, you don't need goggles. In fact, you SHOULDN'T wear them because you won't be able to see the beam anyway.

And if you can see the beam or dot through the goggles, they are completely useless and you've got other problems.

Goggles can be had for $10 or less. Buy a pair. Maybe even two.

Not wearing them, is one thing. Not even owning a pair is a whole new level is short (or no) sightedness.

If you get hurt, and you have to share you don't even own a pair. We all look like fools.
