Pot moding  my laser (new)

Hey everyone i'm new to this forum and I bought a 5ms green laser from ebay about a month or 2 ago... and i have been watching these "mod" videos.... so i wanna mod my laser... the only problem is is that I cannot take the cap off!!! I saw another video on how to take the cap off but i don't have the brabch hemmer tool to kinda cut my way through it... what can I do to get the cap off, to get the diode accesible? or is there an easier way?

Well, can you take a picture of the laser? It's always easier to see how to do these things if we can see what kind of model it is

its a 20mw laser... and if you pot mod the laser it will drastically redice the life of the laser

incorrect... it's 5mW from ebay the regular style as the true 30mW from DX

I know this thread is a little old, but sorry, you can't pot mod those pointers. Usually turning the ones that have a pot does nothing because the crystals are already saturated. You are just going to have to buy a bigger one if you want more power.
