Pot Modding is STILL AWSOME

i STILL say pot mods are awsome! becouse if the laser is cheap and weak,why not boost the power to get some fun out of it? i dont think its worth shorting the life of a laser that is bright enough already,but in MY PERSONAL experience,it was worth it to boost my 5mW radio shack laser (That i have 2 of thanks to a friend who works at the store with sticky fingers) to a quick 50mW+.... now im sure theres going to be a few people to throw in thier opinions about this,and talk about how stupid i am for pot modding,and last week there was an AWSOME arguement between a few users and my little brother (Who was using my computer and logged in as me on the site) anyway i like pot modding personally,and its been over a week and my laser still works just fine,i know the time is limited,but as of now there absolutly NO sign of wear or shortage of power. i also recived my 200mW greeny, i couldent be happier! i would really appriciate if people dont post anything negitive about my post,or atleast if you do post a disagreement, do it nicley? Yes, "pot modding" is an easy way to get some extra power out of your laser. I'm sure most of the members here "pot mod" some of their cheap greenies. I know I do.
BUT, it is not recommended by us here because we know what a "pot mod" really is.

Pot modding is perfectly fine... it's your property (well, in this case, technically, it still belongs to RadioShack :tsk and you can do what you please with it.

All we ask is that first, you take the time to read and make yourself aware of the potential dangers, risks, and problems that you may encounter.

The important part of "pot modding" is that you stay within the "safe zone" of the operating parameters of the driver, diode, and crystal.
There is a limit to how much you can get out of each individual unit.
We don't want anyone getting the wrong idea here.

I find it amazing how many people have "little brothers" that they use as a "password safe". I've been administering online sites for a while, and this exact same excuse comes up continuously like weeds in the spring.

He even pulled out the old and tired "you guys are just too sensitive / need to lighten up" routine.

Oh, and it's always "you guys sit around on your computers all day and have no lives" --- as called by ... guys who sit around on their computers all day telling other guys that they sit around on their computers all day.

Oh well. It's nice to know that trolls are pretty much the exact same archetype and schematic flow all over the internet. It's about someone write a heuristic detection engine for these kids.
