Hey guys so i currently have a ~60mW blu-ray (that i built myself) and a 5mW greenie (bought), and of course a few of them 1mW red ones from the dollar store, but i want to invest in something a little more powerful... so i thought about buying a green one because its the most visible one. At first i thought of buying the Alpha 65, but its a little expensive at $200.00 USD, so now i thought of buying the x75 and a ES Pen-'sink from dark horse, which would be around the same price, but i like the fact that i can stick the x75 in my pocket, (without anyone thinking that im happy to see them lol!)... If you guys had the same amount of money, (and not the experience or time to build your own) what would you buy??? I have also heard from o-like, and know they are relatively cheaper than NOVA but NOVA should be higher quality right? And i also have to take into account ease of purchase (and most of all delivery), since i live in the US and they seem to be great with that.

Search the "Buy-Sell-Trade" forum for Jayrobs easy Green kit ($55 shipped from US) and visit O-like.com and look at Susies modules (100mW $66 120-150mW $105) ...

Susies modules are consistantly overpowered and have proven to be reliable and stable, plus with the Jayrob kit you're looking at about 15 minutes assembly with no prior experience needed and no surprises, nice sturdy, small host and a great Greenie you can honestly say you built yourself!

I'd stay away from the Opto pointers (although their normal laser selections are incredible from what I've heard, if not priced a bit higher than the pointers) - it appears that they are bulk buying the Chinese stuff and metering it, then sorting by power and selling accordingly, while this offers you the opportunity to be confident of the power you are recieving, it doesn't change the fact that they're still cheap-o Chinede pointers IMHO

Just another note, from the reviews here, the 80-100mW modules run around 110mW as a rule of thumb, and the 120-150mW run around 140-ish, 110 is enough for basic burning so you might want to save that extra $35 IMHO ...

Glad I could help - have fun with your new build!
