Hi, ive been reading on these forums for a few hours now and would like abit of advice before I go ahead and purchase.

I've narrowed it down to about 3 lasers.
Currently have a 5mw and a 50mw but want a more powerful laser for lighting up clouds and pointing at stars and maybe a little burning.

LZSK - 532nm 400mW High Power DPSS Green Laser Pointer

I've read reviews and concerned that the beam's divergence is larger than say the lazerer 200mw's so it's not as impressive as I would hope for because of the DPSS?

Then I found this one

LZCN - 532nm 300mW High Power Green Laser Pointer Separate Crystal

But then I read because it's single crystal it can be prone to damage in shipping. Because this isn't DPSS would this appear about the same brightness (beam)?

Then I found this o-like one.

Crown upgrade 400mW green laser torch/adjustable/waterproof [OL-CGL-400] - $195.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

It says adjustable? I assume this means focusable?
This looks good, read review on here and seems good but keep reason bad bad things about o like.

I've only found these 3 so I'm open to suggestion.

My budget is about $230 or £150.

Many thanks in advance.

Personally I would for for the first option if I were you.

For two reasons, but one mainly.

1. Lazerer can install an IR filter for you. (So can No-Like.)

2. Lazerer can test the laser out for you, and give you the exact output.

Obviously if you can up your budget somewhat, go with Jetlasers instead. Price is a lot higher, but it's worth it.

Then you understood something wrong. All 3 Lasers are DPSS lasers with two cristals stacked together and being pumped by a third cristal that emmits IR light. The first one is focusable too. Both, the first one and the last one do have a wider beam diameter at the output, but that dosn´t mean their divergence is worse than for the 200mW one. In general the wider the beam at the output the better the divergence. So at short distances it may appear the ones with a wider beam diameter do have a worse divergence, but at long distances you will notice the opposite.

So personaly I would listen to Infinituis´s advice.

You could always try and contact some vet members to build you one :)

Oh boy ... You have to read a bit more about how green DPSS lasers work and how costly it is to build one with this power range.
