Here are the photos that i have taken with my modified webcam (IR only).
I did this experiment so you can see the dispersion of IR output.
There is a lot of discussion going on about IR output dangers.
Technical details:
- Laser is DealExtreme 100mw with ~75mw nominal output power
- One of the batteries was flat so there was no green output. Only IR (invisible).
- Target square is 10cmx10cm (~average palm size)
- In first picture target to laser distance 50cm, in second 100cm
As you can see IR is not much larger than the green beam diameter. Remember this is a nearly flat battery output. At higher power levels flares can be dangerous.
