Opening my DX laser

I have an ebay green laser (10mW) that is the same as either the real or knockoff new wish laser at DX. I have found it virtually impossible to open. I've gotten everything off, I just cant separate the diode from the housing. ive tried to push it out with all the force i can, and ive tried crunching around the outer housing with pliers to loosen it. any suggestions?

ive searched and seen a thread, and i have only found one method that i understand, and that is to crunch around the laser until supposed glue has broken up.

but a lot easier way to do it is to but one end in a vise and the other end you use robo grip pliers it will work fine.

also you know that nice black finish. well you will never get it back it will have scrapes of gold on it.
