1 month or so ago I asked about, just if your laser has reverse polarity protection, and she said yes.

Too bad I not kept the mail.

Anyway I have introduced the battery upside down on purpose several times and have never broken any laser for doing that.

Thats strange..Yeah I just put the battery back in and turned it on and it worked for a little bit longer this time then shut off again...

Just in case check your battery voltage, aprox between 3,7 and 4,2 volt.

Or, You do not have another battery to test the laser? Sometimes it may happen that the voltage looks correct, but the battery can be dead and not
delivery enough current and voltage when is in use.

If after that does not work, the best you can do is not touch anything else and contact O-Like.

I have another AW 18650 3100mah battery for my flashlight and I tried that in my laser and it didn't help. I switched the battery that came with the laser into the flashlight and it worked fine as far as I could tell.

Well this sucks... Should I just tell them it isn't working properly? Safety glasses should be worn for 200mw right? off topic sorry... All I did was shine the laser on my bathroom wall while wearing sunglasses and focused it down to a point. Is that okay?

Do you see a red glow on the wall in a dark room? Don't look into the laser. It could very well be the crystals go knocked out of whack.

Yes, but if finally don't work, you cannot do otherwise.

Of course, you NEED appropriate goggles for your laser, Wow, never, never use sunglasses to play with your laser.

Okay I'll just tell them it isn't working properly I'm going to pick up some wire and try to play with it a little more and if it doesn't work I'll contact o-like. Yeah I knew sunglasses weren't going to cut it. Can you recommend me some that would provide me with proper protection?

It is possible that someone will recommend something else, but personally I think these are a good compromise for the quality-price.

They protect from violet to the green lasers, and part of the IR spectrum (good for DPSS green lasers unfiltered)

visibility is not excellent, but not very bad in any case.

I would go with the slightly more expensive version for $10 more, that offer 808nm protection.

Personally I don't use IR blocking goggles, but either put filters on the lasers - very rarely - or I'm just very careful with how I use them, even with goggles.

A question of curiosity.

If you are not concerned about the IR from the green lasers, why you recommend a pair of goggles with worth $10 more, and have a worse VLT, only 20%?

In this case these others protect from 190nm to 540nm, have a very good VLT and are cheaper.

Mostly I'm just very paranoid about the recommendations that I make.

Personally when I'm using a green laser, I'm still exactly as cautious as I am without goggles. Maybe a bit less so with 405nm, and 445nm, but really I act basically the same way around lasers, goggles or no goggles.

For me goggles primarily serve to allow to LPM - otherwise I find the light to be too unpleasantly bright. The coating on the ophir square is also a bit glossy, which I don't feel over comfortable with.

Unfortunately what I found from observing people, is when they use safety equipment, they in turn take more risks. This is a personal observation, but it has been corroborated empirically.

So when recommending safety safety equipment, my expectation is the user will act like a fool waving it around. That's not always the case, but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

If/when this happens, I would prefer the user have complete protection.

It might be poor electrical contact in the end cap----if you have a needle nose plier --- put the points into the holes of the threaded aluminum piece inside the end cap--unscrew it and screw back down to be sure the threads are making good electrical contact --- if you have some DeOxit contact cleaner you can unscrew it completely and clean the inside of cap female threads and the male threads on the insert with the switch ---then reinstall the switch into the end cap.

I have had it happen before where there was not good electrical contact .

If you test the laser without the switch/end cap and it is doing the same thing --then problem is not poor contact in the end cap

Well, maybe is my poor understanding of the English, but not quite understand your answer, sorry.

The 2 pair of goggles in question have the same OD, but the goggles that you advise here, have a worse VLT, only 20%.

If you advise these because protec from the 808nm, well, unless the OP wants to buy a laser with a beam not visible,
or nearly so, then buy a more expensive goggles with and VLT worse and with the same OD, I do not see the advantage.

Might be wrong, but I get the impression that you confused VLT with OD.

Work in places with not much light with a goggles with the same OD but with only an VLT of 20%, is not very comfortable.

Anyway, each person can have his own opinion.
