Hello, all!
Been a while since I got my hands on anything new, but I went ahead and hit up O-like for a new green. This laser cost me $34.99 + a few bucks for shipping, I ordered 24.12.11, it shipped 26.12.11, and I signed for it in the US today; 3.1.12. That's pretty fast, if you ask me.
The overall feel of the build is "thin, but solid", with a little sloppy machining on the screw-caps that makes them a little picky when putting them on. Aside from that, the only issues I see are that the tail switch is pretty spongey, and the driver doesn't have any support around it inside the battery compartment (I've attached a picture), which might cause an issue down the road.
The battery for this model is the 18650, and it ships with one and a charger. There is a simple focus module on the cap, which is decently smooth and steady, probably from the grease used in the "waterproofing". It also has a large play for pretty fine focusing. I was able to get some light smoking off black paper and plastics, but hardly any real effect.
The beam is moderately visible to the eye in medium-lit rooms, obviously not-so-much in brighter ones.
Overall; I'm pretty happy (for day one), but if I notice something horrible, I'll be sure to pop back and edit away.
COMMENCE PHOTODUMP! All shots are on a 1"x1" grid for reference.
