It looks to me that the crystals are misaligned. If you look at the color of the dot in the first pic, it looks a blueish type of color, which is the way the camera sees IR. The laser is outputing alot more IR than green, at least thats the way it looks in the first pic. Post more pics of the laser dot. And be very careful with it, it may not be outputting much green, but the IR will do you in just as quick, and its worse because you dont have a blink reflex to a nearly invisible wavelength.
Also, that 5mW could be overspec, and outputting anywhere from <5mW up to >50mW. I have a 5mW rated greenie outputing 20mW. If you dont have an LPM, than you cannot know the actuall output power of lasers.

EDIT: One more thing that I forgot, *if* you are getting full IR leakage, than it will be alot more powerfull than 350mW, because the IR pump diode is more powerfull to allow room for power loss during the conversion process...

Ok, you are right about that.I just mean it outputs very lower than my 5mw rated pointer.Anyways I will upload 5mw's and 350mw's dot pictures soon.

Yes, please do. And be VERY carefull with it. Reflections can happen without notice, especially if your preoccupied with a camera. You will not notice the hit from IR untill it is too late.

Huh... I dont see any IR there, just green. Maybee it was a camera glitch the first time. Anyway, you are correct, that doesnt look to be anymore than 5-10mW

You should borrow a multi-meter from a friend, or go buy one. If you tinker in electronics at all, a multimeter is a must have.

Batts wouldnt cause IR leakage. Though I dont see any IR in these latest ones. Take a pic of the rayfoss laser with the lights on. And your 5mW rated pen appears to be overspec:D

No problem, that is what the forum is for, helping people and talking about cool lasers:D. Yeah, that laser needs to be returned for a replacement/refund. You should email faona ASAP. You might not hear back untill after the 4th though.

I did.Are you sure that laser is the problem or the battery?

You did say you charged the batt fully correct? If so, then it is most likely the laser. There are alot of unhappy rayfoss customers popping up lately. It seems their quality control is lacking effort...
