New 5mw green laser (question)

Alright so ive just ordered a 5mw green laser from ebay for $8.98US. Just want an expert opinion, the specs are
Output Type :Fixed focus
Dimension :14 x 160mm
Output power: 5mW 532nm(Class IIIb)
Body material: Metal

Is this going to be worth the money ive already spent?
Will i be able to see the beam & how far?

5mW will not going to give a visible beam
( it will be visible if you blow smoke in the beam )
but not visible in the dark.

Still 5mW green is nice to start with , as i started wirh 1 mW HeNe tubes then came the 5mW diodes and so on.

Alright sense most of you stated that i wont be able to see the beam what mw will i need to see it? I'm really not trying to spend more then $10US but all suggestions are welcome.
Oh and i live in Mississippi idk the laws for laser pointers and if im ordering one i would like to receive it and not have it confiscated before it reaches me. Again thank you for your advice/help/answers.

but remember that he did use a bit of smoke in the videos or somehow he made the room foggy , can't see it but it's there

Ok that does help thank you, in the video he clearly states that a 5mw green laser is visible at night. So my assumption of that i will be able to see the beam of the laser at night.

Again , these are videos and a CCCD camera webcam phone cam photocamera does not pick up light as a human eye 5mW will not be visible @ night , but it will be visible if it is a foggy morning or night , because you really need as lasersbee sais
:A tested true 5mW 532nm Laser will need particulate matter
suspended in the air to make it visible... Like cigarette smoke

Even my 100mW red 650 laser is hardly visible in the dark but as soon if it's foggy the beam comes out bright

Thank you for your time, i would greatly appreciate a video about the visibility of a laser.

Now that ive read a lil about lasers i realize that the 5mw laser is the only laser that is legal to buy in the US. :( All i really want is a laser where the beam is visible at night so i can create small light shows. And as a stated before im on a tight budget and im not willing to spend more then 10-20 US$. If at all possible you know of a site where i can get one for that price with that ability that is legal in M.S. (united states) that would be greatly appreciated.

The red is 300mW and i did smoked 2 sigarets already but still hardly visible
The green is >400mW nevermind that one
But as you can see i blow smoke into the beams and already the red beam disappears rapidly and it´s 300mW
Your green 5mW will not be as visible as you can see here

nr 1 ebay link is fucking gay ! and link nr2 hmmm yeah well probably 5mW maybe if your lucky more them 5 mW ( AKA don't buy them ! )


BTW i thought you already bought a green laser so ?

I did, i dont have a link to the one i bought but these looked similar to the one i did. So for that mater i asked a simple question (witch is better) im thinking about getting the 2nd one going with what it said on the sticker
