need help changing 10Mw $50 laser into burner from

well the title prety much sums it up so send me ideas on how to make my burner work right

this would be my 3rd try so far to make a burner out of one

I need help changing my cents into dollars and my lead into gold. Sorry man, but you bought a 10mW laser - that ain't gunna be burning much if at all. You need to buy a more powerful laser.

ya, pot mods normally dont work, thats why i was wondering what ......brand? the laser was, some you can, but most you cant, and it greatly decreases lifetime

Buy a 140mW 650nm Sony 16xdvd burner laser diode w/ aixiz laser housing w/ shipping (for both) w/ 3v power supply for +/- 60$ and you got yourself a burning laser! - Kipkay laser hack, I've built (2) and after 4 months, so far...so good. lol, just my thoughts...

Btw Ace, my kipkay laser is going strong for 5 months now and I'm using the hell out of it....maybe I got a good diode or maybe it's just Ni-MHs being kind to it.
Anyway Evilangel , you should try making a DVD laser or just buy a powerfull one.By modifying low powered one , you're gonna end up with useless junk anyway :

Finally, someone who doesn't knock the "anti-driver" set up! I actually built two, and both have been working very well. I've posted some pics here of one http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1205047730 I know it isn't the most professional, but works excellent! I love "carving" into dark materials with it! It's my experiment to "put the diode to the test" as I've used them both like crazy with no problem. I use NI-MH too @ 1.2v X 2 , BTW.
