Narrowed down to 4 options, thoughts?

Guys, I apologize but I'd like your thoughts just one more time.....promise to make a decision. Just returned the WL I bought earlier (it had a sticky button, cost me $12 to return) :yabbem:, and now I'm stuck to the following options.....any final words of advice? (I also have a question about the O-Like choice):

1. Optronics: $76 40 mW; people seem to really like their quality;

2. O-Like: $28 50mW (Pocket compact Green laser 50mW [OLPG50] - $28.00 : O-Like, Quality Products, Great Prices) but people on this site seem to say that although it's lower quality than Optronics, it's still better than the really cheap versions that burnout after three days (Question: Is that true? Also, it says it comes with a rechargeable lith-ion battery, but not sure if it includes the charger for it as well. Anyone know? I asked in an email but got no response).

3. RayFoss: Same pricing as O-Like but a larger selection and they include the cool defractor caps (www.rayfoss.com), although they don't seem too fond of taking credit card payments; Faona is trying to help me out with that.

4. Amazon resellers (HDE and Unitech): really cheap (~$25), some people seem to like their products, others seem really annoyed at getting a shipment that burns out quickly (a few hours or days) or dims after a few seconds. This is probably not even a real option to consider.....I want something cheap that I don't feel too bad about if it breaks after awhile or if I lose it, but I certainly don't want it to break after a few hours..

Thanks again for your help :beer::beer:

I would always try to avoid sites like ebay and amazon when buying laser pointers and kits. Of the remaining three choices I would go for optotronics, they offer on or above spec lasers with an awesome divergence. When choosing Chinese companies such as o-like and rayfoss you can expect on or near spec lasers with not so good divergence. The warranty offered by optotronics is also better.

optotronics would be my choice.

Go with 2 or 3. There is no use in having very high quality (optotronics) pens at that low power, you practically won't notice a difference. O-like and rayfoss sells cheap but good quality lasers.

You could also buy this: http://ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1076.htm It's a very nice laser, better quality than the regular cheapo greenies.

Excellent. I just ordered the ledshoppe......thanks so much. :drool::drool::drool:: If I have any problems, I'll go with O-Like next time. !!!

Sorry to hear that. That's the impression I got after reading some of the posts. Like I said above, I finally ended up going with Ledshoppe...people seemed pretty happy with them as being one of the better "cheapo" laser sellers. I was trying to go with Rayfoss, but they wouldn't take credit cards and when I tried ordering from O-Like, it wouldn't process my Amex or my Mastercard (even though I approved the purchase with the charge companys fraud prevention team beforehand). So I expect to get my 50mW pen laser in a day or two. People seemed pretty happy with LEDshoppe, and considering they have free shipping and a free return policy, I can't see where I could go wrong.

I'll update everyone after I receive it. Thanks again for veryone's help.
