Is my O-like 400mw dead?

I had to order one ultrafire battery order , because my laser runs for a minute or so and then it just goes dimly green until it stops outputting anything. The thing is protected cells are a bit taller and the one from o-like seemed to fit perfectly in terms of height and I just tried it today after not trying it for 2 weeks and now it dosen't even go to full power when fully charged. it starts at like 10mw or so and then goes to nothing with IR being visible on a camera or on a white spot in a dark room. I've tried it with a 3.0v battery that measured 3.2 volts and no green came out. (the thing that bothers me about this is that last time I tried it it looked as bright as my 30mw green or so, but it may have been the other 3.0 volt battery that I'm charging now.) Does it sound like something besides a battery issue? I could use some help.

Re: Do Ultrafire protected 18650s fit in the o-like 400mw green?

I also tried 3 alkaline AA batteries for a total of 4 volts and only got IR coming out with no green. It's like the diode went zombie?

I would recommend emailing Susie and possibly sending it back in exchange for a working one. Depending on how long you have had it and if is covered under their warranty still. Messing with any of it's guts could void any possible exchange you could get.

:tired: well, it seems that your 400mw laser is dead. And maybe you should apply for an RMA for this reason.

Did it shine bright as a 350mW plus laser should shine or did it never shine bright ?

Did you by accident run it to long till it heated up to high? 50.c+ ?

I'd do as Grover recommend

I had it since Feb and when I tried it like a week or so ago it would run full power for 30 seconds to a minute before it would go dim and then stop. I've charged the battery several times.

I think I'm going with a 445nm laser next time. None of this DPSS or sensitive diode stuff , since those diodes are made tough. I just gotta get one with proper heat sinking and it should last awhile.

^ yea the only reason my 200mw o-like died was cause I thought it was a 5 minute duty cycle and not a minute. It lasted quite awhile that way though.

You're rich? :D
